"Passu Torrau" è perhaps is the most known theme of Sardinian Music. Spread throughout Sardinia, takes different names depending on geographical area: Ballu Tundu, Mamojadina o Ballu Seriu.
2 - Mediana (Launeddas)
Massimo Congiu plays "Mediana", from his teacher Dionigi Burranca, which he considered "the mother of all music for Launeddas", for the complexity and beauty of musical phrases.
Launeddas instrument are mainly used in southern of Sardinia, accompanying processions and folk dances.
3 - Balllu Sardu Sorgonesu
Track played by Davide Mereu for an anthologic CD.
This is "Ballu Ssardu Sorgonesu", the traditional "Circle Dance" of middle-Sardinia, learned by the old musician of his village, Giuseppe Brundu (noto Brungiuleddu).
The uniquenless of track is the originality of the musical phrases that simply and effectively give rithm to dancers in the traditional dance.
